MINISTRIES
The vision of the LBC network is to ‘plant churches from here to the coast, into Europe and into the world’ (fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus in Matthew 28:19).
At LBC Rhayader that is no different, so one of our ministries is that we are church planters.
LBC Rhayader is a church plant, planted and supported from LBC Hurst Green, but the actual building and running of the church has been done by the Rhayader team, mainly Adam and Leonie.
And now we are looking outwardly at planting more churches from LBC Rhayader.
Take a look below at all the ministries we have created and use to help to grow Rhayader and the plants that will come from here.
Crosfield House Care Home
Crosfield House Care Home is a purpose-built facility in Rhayader which offers exceptional residential, nursing, and dementia care with 64 Beds.
Once a month members from our Worship team head over to the home and provide a worship service.
Prayer, praise and a gospel message with pastoral care available to the residents and staff.
These visits have been well received by all and look to be a permanent feature for the foreseeable future.
Church Planting
We are currently in talks with a chapel in a small village called Llanwrtyd Wells.
They are looking for someone to take on a tiny little chapel that has dwindled over time and is in need of a fresh set of ideas and energy.
We believe that God called us to this chapel and that we might just be what it needs, Guided by God's direction and Will of course.
GoFundMe to Bring Children home to their Parents
We have started a GoFundMe Page to raise the £10000 needed by members of our church to be able to bring their two children to the UK.
Dumisani and Thembekile are wonderful people and true servants of Christ who have moved to the UK to fill needed workers in Key roles where we have a shortage of willing workers, but it is very expensive and difficult to bring their Children to the UK.
We felt led by God to try to assist in this in the only way we had available to us. So if you feel led please do check it out.
School Work
Partnering with Living Waters Church, we are heading into the local Primary School in Rhayader to provide a worship and word assembly for the kids and teachers.
Giving a Gospel message in a creative and engaging way including music and lots of interaction.
Food Bank Collections
We have taken a collection for a month in 2024 to help support a local food bank run by The Arches local Charity.
This is something we will do at least once a year but hopefully more often God and Finances willing.
Our gift was well received this time and we hope to continue to build a good working relationship with the Arches.
Supporting Local Events
Reindeer Run
The Reindeer Run was a great running event put on by The Bracken Trust and supported by various groups.
Rhayader Running Club which is chaired by our Pastor was heavily involved and our worship team was again called into action to provide musical support, which was also a great opportunity to speak to the community and let them know about Jesus and LBC Church.
Open Mic Nights - The Lost Arc
A local arts and performance community venue hosts a monthly open mic night.
Members of our worship team perform at the events with a mix of secular and Christian music and include small elements of gospel messages while on stage.
While offstage the musicians and others from the church mingle and chat with the patrons and allow God to provide opportunities to plant seeds and reach people according to His will.
The Lost Arc also kindly allows us to have flyers for our events and for the church on their premises.
Rhayader Youth Group
Once a fortnight on a Wednesday evening, Rhayader Youth Group meets at the LBC Church Building.
It is a secular youth group, but they love being in The Loft and it's a pleasure to be able to facilitate the group.
We get on well with the organisers of the club and look forward to continuing to work with them with their great community youth work.
Rhayader Carnival
Rhayader's Annual Carnival is one of the towns biggest events of the year.
Last year we were able to have a stand at the carnival providing games, music, a dry comfortable seating area and listening ears.
We provided flyers for our events and church services, tracts and booklets.
We also provided free umbrella's because it was a wet day.
This is a great event and we will be attending again, this year maybe we will even have a float in the parade.
Scouts - St Georges Day Service
